Quick answer: estimate Czech shipping from the packed parcel
A useful Czech Republic shipping estimate starts with final packed weight and outside dimensions, then compares only the Hipobuy routes currently offered for the exact postcode and item set. Keep import VAT, the temporary EU low-value customs duty and any carrier clearance charge separate from the international shipping quote unless the live transaction explicitly includes them. Hipo Sheets provides a planning range and cannot read current Hipobuy prices or calculate Czech import charges.
1. Finish product, QC and legality checks first
Confirm every selected item, colour, size, quantity, visible condition and measurement before international shipping. Resolve a return or exchange before building the parcel. Check whether the actual goods can lawfully enter Czechia and whether the selected route accepts them. A seller listing or shopping-platform link does not establish that an item is lawful or eligible for a particular carrier.
2. Use packed weight and outside dimensions
Product-level weights are only early inputs. Use the newest packed physical weight and measure the outside length, width and height after boxes, protection and consolidation are chosen. A route can compare physical and volumetric weight, apply its own divisor or rounding rule and charge the higher result. Use rehearsal packaging when appropriate, then confirm the current route calculation before payment.
3. Compare only live routes offered to the Czech Republic
Route availability can change with the five-digit postcode, parcel size, weight, product attributes and carrier conditions. Compare the current service name, tracking coverage, delivery estimate, chargeable-weight method, maximum dimensions, restrictions, compensation terms and final total. Do not copy an older rate table or assume a route shown for another European destination is available to the Czech address.
4. Check the Czech address and five-digit postcode
Czech Post places the postcode and delivery locality on the last address line and formats the postcode as three digits, a space and two digits. Confirm the recipient name, street and house number, any apartment detail, postcode, locality, Czech Republic and phone number. Use the exact fields requested by live checkout and verify that the postcode belongs to the stated locality before payment.
5. Decide packaging before trusting the quote
Shoe boxes, structured bags, padded jackets and protective materials can raise parcel volume without a similar increase in scale weight. Compare the protection value of each box with the possible dimensional-weight effect. If items, packaging or compression choices change after rehearsal, obtain or confirm updated packed measurements before comparing the final routes.
6. Check Czech import VAT for the actual goods
The Czech Republic's standard VAT rate is 21%, while a reduced rate can apply to specified goods. Czech Post explains that imported e-commerce goods can be subject to VAT and that the VAT base can include the goods, postage, customs duty and the customs-declaration service. Do not assume every product uses the standard rate or treat the international shipping quote as an import-tax calculation.
7. Preserve the IOSS data before the declaration is filed
For an eligible sale up to EUR 150, IOSS can collect VAT during purchase when the seller uses the scheme and the identifier is supplied in time for the customs declaration. Czech Post warns that the IOSS number must be included no later than the declaration and cannot simply be added afterwards to create the exemption. Save the invoice and tax record, and never invent or alter an IOSS identifier.
8. Account for the temporary EUR 3 low-value customs duty
From 1 July 2026, the European Union replaced the former low-value customs-duty relief with a temporary EUR 3 duty for qualifying e-commerce imports up to EUR 150. European Commission guidance links the amount to tariff-classified items in the consignment, so it is not a universal once-per-parcel fee. Czech Post's current import page also flags the new duty; verify the actual classification and declaration treatment.
9. Submit complete information through the verified customs form
Czech Post directs recipients to its postaonline.cz customs form when it needs shipment details or authorisation. Keep the tracking number, exact goods description, sender information, product value, shipping cost, weight, invoice, payment proof and any valid IOSS record ready. Submit only truthful information through the verified form; missing or inconsistent data can delay release or lead to another document request.
10. Keep Czech Post representation charges separate
Import VAT, customs duty and a customs-representation charge are different amounts. As reviewed on 30 July 2026, Czech Post's current price table lists IOSS customs clearance up to EUR 150 at CZK 0, whether it uses documents and authorisation supplied by the recipient or processes the IOSS shipment without recipient cooperation. Other procedures and other carriers can have different fees, so do not generalise the CZK 0 entry beyond that IOSS service.
11. Understand the customs-value components
Czech Customs states that the EUR 150 low-value threshold is tested against the intrinsic value of the goods, while the VAT base is broader. Czech Post says customs value for duty can include the intrinsic goods value, postage to the destination and insurance; its VAT base can also include assessed customs duty and the customs-declaration service. Keep the invoice and shipping evidence together so the assessed amounts can be checked.
12. Use accurate descriptions, quantities and values
Retain the product order, price paid, currency, quantity, shipping record and an accurate description of every item. Czech Post specifically warns that goods must not be undervalued and may require a more precise description or tariff information. Do not mark a commercial purchase as a private gift, use a vague label or alter proof of payment to try to change the assessment.
13. Know the representation and self-clearance choices
Czech Post can represent the recipient when the required information and authorisation are supplied. For an eligible non-IOSS, personal-use consignment up to EUR 150, a non-business individual may instead use the Czech Customs eCeP service, and Czech Post says self-clearance must be completed before the shipment reaches the exchange post office. Czech Customs states that, from 1 July 2026, eCeP cannot be used for IOSS consignments, private gifts, returned goods, moved personal effects or business goods; an IOSS declaration is normally filed by the seller, platform or its customs representative. Check the current eCeP eligibility rules before relying on self-clearance.
14. Check prohibited, restricted and controlled goods
Czech Post lists special handling for goods such as medicines, plants, animal products, weapons and other controlled items, and customs can refuse or separate prohibited contents. Carrier rules can add further restrictions for batteries, liquids or perfumes. Check the real product and the live route before ordering; no carrier name or declaration phrase makes prohibited goods lawful.
15. Track the parcel and respond to a verified hold
Czech Post notes that it depends on shipment data transferred by foreign operators and can display either the original or a locally assigned tracking number after arrival. A customs pause is not itself proof of loss. If information is requested, open the official Czech Post or PostaOnline site independently, match the tracking number and provide complete records through the verified channel.
16. Avoid parcel-payment phishing
Czech Post's security guidance tells users not to pay fees through links in suspicious emails or text messages and to use official websites and applications. Do not rely on a logo, sender name or urgent wording. Open the official tracking or customs page yourself, verify the parcel identifier and ignore a request that cannot be matched to the real shipment.
17. Save the quote and delivered-cost evidence
Keep the selected items, QC photos, packed weight, dimensions, packaging choices, route name, tracking, shipping quote, tax record and any import-payment breakdown together. This makes it possible to distinguish product cost, international shipping, VAT, customs duty and a postal or courier service fee. It also gives you better inputs for a future Czech parcel.

Destination FAQ
Common Czech Republic shipping questions
How much is Hipobuy shipping to the Czech Republic?
There is no single fixed Czech price. The live total depends on packed weight, dimensions, route, postcode, product restrictions, service level and current surcharges. Use the calculator for a planning range, then confirm the live Hipobuy quote before payment.
How long does Hipobuy shipping to Czechia take?
Use the current route estimate shown for the exact parcel. Seller, warehouse, rehearsal, export, customs and last-mile time are separate stages. A Czech Post delivery or clearance estimate is not a guarantee for the complete Hipobuy delivery.
Do I pay Czech VAT on a parcel below EUR 150?
Low value does not create a general VAT exemption. VAT may be collected through an eligible IOSS sale or assessed during import processing, depending on the transaction and the data filed. The standard Czech rate is 21%, but the actual rate depends on the goods.
Is the 2026 EU duty EUR 3 for the entire parcel?
No universal once-per-parcel rule applies. The temporary amount is linked to tariff-classified items in a qualifying low-value consignment, so goods under different classifications can create more than one EUR 3 amount.
Does Czech Post charge for IOSS customs clearance?
As reviewed on 30 July 2026, Czech Post lists its IOSS customs-clearance service for goods up to EUR 150 at CZK 0. This does not remove customs duty, does not apply to every clearance procedure and does not bind another carrier, so verify the current table.
How should I enter a Czech delivery address?
Use the full recipient name, street and house number, apartment detail when needed, five-digit postcode, official delivery locality, Czech Republic and a current phone number. Czech Post displays the postcode as three digits, a space and two digits; follow the live checkout fields.
